Until We Are Reunited

Image
Today, January 20, 2021, I join my fellow patriots in saying NOT good-bye, but until we are reunited, to one of the greatest Presidents ever to grace the USA. Mr. Donald J. Trump. Dear Mr. Trump, you sir, have awakened the Spirit of 76 in us! Granted, there are many of us who carried, and continue to carry, the Spirit of '76 each and every day. But you Mr. President have ignited that spark in those who were too meek to speak up for themselves, too timid to defend themselves. Now these former meek and timid patriots are carrying the torch of that very flame of the Spirit of 76. We are so very grateful for this. In the short years you served this great nation of ours, you reminded each of us that the love we have for God & Country still lives on. To say thank you Mr. Trump doesn't seem nearly enough. But sir, know that we do thank you! We thank you for your courage. We Thank you for being our voice. We Thank you for making a stand against all odds and against so many enemie...

Domestic Violence: Taking It Like A Man -- The Untold Story

Image
Domestic Violence.   It's Everybody's Business! But how many turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to it?  Sadly too many to count. While the majority of such violence reported involved  women and children, an alarming number of men who are victims go unreported ...  even ignored. "... activists for “men’s rights” have suggested that policy-oriented efforts for women have been misplaced, because they focus entirely on women as the victims of domestic violence .  “men are the victims of domestic violence at least as often as women” (Brott, 1994). " [emphasis added] ( http://new.vawnet.org/Assoc_Files_VAWnet/GenderSymmetry.pdf ) *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* And we are not just talking about gay men in this regard.   Hetero-sexual men fall prey to domestic abuse as well.  You don't hear about it very often -- if at all .   Pride and shame prevent many of these men from coming forward.  Shame of not bein...

Hubble Space Telescope Finds Clouds On Super-Earth, Neptune-Sized Planets

Image
Using  NASA ’s Hubble Space Telescope, two research teams have discovered thick layers of high-altitude clouds covering the atmospheres of two relatively nearby exoplanets: a super-Earth and a "warm Neptune." Scientists are beginning to get a handle on how to study the atmospheres on alien planets, and have even found  green clouds  on the super-Jupiter planet, Kepler-7b. But the findings, published in the journal Nature this week, show that clouds can cover smaller planets too — including two of the most common types of planets found in the Milky Way. Neither of the planets, GJ 436b and GJ 1214b, are quite like anything found in our solar system. GJ 436b is a warm Neptune that’s slightly larger than Neptune and much closer to its host star. Thus unlike our own distant, gassy ice giant, GJ 436b’s surface temperature sits about a blistering 980 degrees Fahrenheit. It is 36 light-years from Earth in the constellation Leo. GJ 1214b, a super-Earth whose radius is 2.7 ...
