The Newly Awakened

There are many aspects to your spiritual awakening.  Each step is design to expand your awareness and improve upon your memories of who and what you truly are.  

You are not a human striving to have a spiritual experience.  Quite the contrary!  You are a spirit being having a physical experience. 

You can always tell the newly awakened.  They are stumbling around, confused and very unsure of themselves.   During this stage they latch on to whatever makes them feel more secure.  This is a natural process.  After all, you've only just begun and you have to hold on to something until you get your bearings.  Nothing to be ashamed of.   It is all part of your growth.

The first stages is very much like  a baby who is just learning to walk.  So grab hold of something and keep going!  

Many of the newly awakened latch on to the notion they are not from this planet.  Some believe they are E.Ts or Angels.  It is true we have off-world friends that visit this earth; some of whom actually reside here on earth, those beings we have come to know as Angels visit regularly, as well as many from other planets.  All have taken a keen interest in this spectacle we call life here on Earth.  Many of these actually serve to protect and guide us.   But the bottom line is this, if you are living here on Earth, you are a human, an earthling, a Terran.  The feelings and/or memories of being not of this world is only a memory of your time spent on other worlds,  time spent on the Other Side.  Granted, you may have come in contact with entities of those worlds while here on Earth.  This no doubt has confirmed your belief you are one of them.  And you were ... once upon a time.  But now, you are here on Earth.  You came through the same way all Earthlings did.  And that makes you what again?  Anyone?  Anyone?

So what is the reasoning behind this belief of being an E.T or an Angel? The reason so many latch on to this notion is they need to feel they have purpose.  In order to feel that sense of purpose, many believe in this idea of being an extraterrestrial that has come here to save the planet and the human race.   That is a very noble purpose!   But here's the thing.  This planet nor the human race requires saving.    Yea!  That's right!    Contrary to popular belief, this world nor its inhabitants needs saving!

As a newly awakened individual, you won't be able to understand or comprehend that right now.  And that's okay!  You're just starting out and you're too focused on not being human at the moment.  That's all part of getting your bearings.   As I mentioned above, you have to have something to hold on to until you get strong enough to move on to the next phase of your awakening.  So take your time.  Enjoy the adventure of remembering!

Believing you are an extraterrestrial or a hybrid doesn't make you wrong.  It doesn't make you crazy!  What it does make you is ... newly awakened!   Your consciousness is still cloudy, but you are starting to remember all those wonderful things from your past.  And yes, those memories are a bit jumbled!  But in time, the pieces will all start to pull together eventually.   The wonderful aspect of this step is that you do remember on some level you are not from this physical world.  What you haven't processed yet is that you are not from any other physical worlds either.    It will take time and a great deal of work to get it all sorted out.  And you will!   

When you wake up from a good night's sleep (or a nap), you find that your mind is a bit cloudy and your body isn't quite ready to move.  There may even be residuals from a dream you were having that causes you to be confused as to where you are, when you are, etc.   We've all been there!  And we all eventually make it on to the next step!  This is how it is for those who are just now "waking up" on a conscious level.

What you are feeling right now is natural.  So take your time, be kind to yourself.  And don't forget to give yourself a big pat on the back!  You understand deep down you are not from this world.  That part of your true self has revealed itself to you and you accepted it!  That is something to be very proud of!  Soon, you will come into the full understanding that you are not a human (or any other physical life form) striving for a spiritual experience.  In time you will know (not just believe, but know) that you are a wondrous eternal spirit striving (and in some instances struggling) to have a physical experience.  Be it on Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Lyria or any multitude of planets out there in the vast Universes.

The Wonderland Babe Tribe

Years back a brilliant documentary on spirituality and science entitled What The *&%$!? Do We Know?!  was introduced to the world.   The whole movie was inspiring but the most memorable line in the movie was a question posed… 

How Far Down the rabbit hole do YOU want to go?

That question is something I still ask myself to this day.   Especially when I face a challenge to go deeper into myself.  The Rabbit Hole aka Self is a bottomless cavern. Though I’m pretty sure we all have an inkling how deep it is none of us know how far this thing called self really goes.     And Going deeper into self is quite the adventure (to say the least).   

Sadly, fear prevents many of us from going on that particular adventure.    But what are we afraid of?  Fear of losing ourselves?  Fear of losing the people we love?  Fear that we will discover how utterly worthless we are?  Fear of the unknown?  

Truthfully, if we're being genuinely honest with our Self,  it is Fear of our own power that prevents us from taking that plunge.  All other fears are just excuses we make up to keep us from admitting to ourselves the real truth that lurks beneath.

Each of us feel that power within and it scares the ever living shit out of us.  So we use distractions to keep from going on the wondrous journey within.  But the good news is, no matter what we do to keep it at bay, it's still there.  Still swirling around inside.  Still calling to us to come play.    For some it comes as a subtle urging or nudging.  For others it is a yearning.   Unfortunately, instead of just going along with it, following our guidance--that little white rabbit if you will--we choose to cover it up with distractions.   

Yes my friends, we make a choice to not accept our true Self in lieu of distractions.  Distractions we convince ourselves will fill that void.  Distractions that shuts out the voice calling to face the truth of who we are--who we really and truly are.  That very voice that is screaming YOU are the power.  You don't just possess the power--you are the power!

While we know instinctively and intellectually that everything  we read from those who do follow the white rabbit is true--we still choose distractions over going deeper.   Why?  Is it because we're afraid we will make others uncomfortable?   Seeing how self degradation has become the "in thing" these days I would say that's the case.  I mean after all we don't want to offend anyone with our greatness right?  We don't want to make them feel insecure...right??!!!

In the religion of the insecure the worst thing we can do for ourselves and the world is not (1) being our true selves and (2) being true to ourselves!  But I say...Fear be damned!  If the people around you feel uncomfortable with your brilliance then let them be uncomfortable.   Who are they to judge you and dictate you have to be just like them and live in fear?   Go down that rabbit hole and see how far it goes!  What do you have to lose?   Sure you can stay where you are and become just like those who judge you.  But aren't you a little sick and tired of that?  Doesn't it bother you not being the true you? No matter who you are you are unique.  You are a living manifestation of glory of the Divine Creators!  You were born that way!  Just accept it and be it!

Don't know if Lewis Carroll knew it or not (I'm sure he knows it now *LOL*) but a new tribe was born from his classic story Alice In Wonderland.  A tribe made up of brave men and women who  respond to the question How Far down the rabbit hole do  YOU want to go?  and dive in to find the answers.    They jump in despite, and in spite, of their fears.  They have no clue what they'll find at the end, but they know in their heart of hearts it doesn't matter.  They only know they won't find out what it is or where it leads unless they take that plunge! 

That little tribe is one that I have endearingly dubbed The Wonderland Babe Tribe!  

You're cordially invited to become a part of The Wonderland Babe Tribe just so long as you know and understand the risks.  And the risks are as follows:  You'll be leaving behind everything that boxes you in and forces you to be less than you are.  You will be saying farewell, bon voyage, good-bye, and toodle-ooo  to all those who try their best to shame you in staying in the shadows and snuff out your light.   You will be letting go of everything that holds you back.  You will be releasing all those feelings of self-hatred, worthlessness and self-pity.

It's okay to be afraid.  We all are!  But we're here together so it's not really all that bad!  And best of all we have someone to guide us!  You've already met him.  He's white and furry and ohh so cute!

Stages of The Awakening Process: Part 2

Your awakening process parallels your physical stages of life and all that goes along with it. 

• Conception
• Gestation
• Birth
• Infant - Toddler
• Young Child - Early Adolescence
• Late Adolescence - Early Adult
• Mid-Late Adulthood

Conception & Gestation

It occurs when  you know  there is  more to life than what you see and experience in every day life.  It happens in that very moment you begin to question all you were taught and everything you once accepted as truth no longer feels right.  No longer feels true.    Try as you might, this  feeling doesn't go away.   In fact, the more you try to ignore it, push it aside, cover it up with various distractions, that feeling grows stronger. 

For those brought up in any kind of strict religious environment, this feeling can be most terrifying.  You find yourself caught between your loyalties to your beliefs and the ever growing feeling that propels you forward.    Out of love (and their own fears) those closest to you attempt to bring you back to your senses.   And despite and in spite of your own fears, you continue on.  Unsure of where it will all lead, unsure if in fact what you're feeling is real, you continue on.  Why?  Because something down deep says you must.  Though the fog of uncertainty is thick,  that  something deep down inside of you  prods you on.   It is a solitary nudge that develops into a twinkling of having to know what it is--whatever it may be prompts you to continue on despite, and yes in spite of,  all the fears that keep cropping up.

This is the conception of your spiritual awakening.

What happens next is very much like the beginning of a new life growing inside a mother's womb known as the gestation period.   During this time, the microscopic nucleus  now begins multiplying itself.    Your spiritual awakening is now Energetically growing from within, stretching your physical awareness to the brink of insanity.  The world around you, though familiar, takes on a strange new wonderful aliveness.  All around you is a curiosity.  Yet at the same time, you notice this odd detachment of old familiar places, things and yes, even people.  You begin to notice too that the people in your life are starting to avoid you and/or you them.    For some, their work no longer challenges them so they seek other employment, many times a job they've never considered before.  Conversations with  friends and  seem uninteresting to you now.  The little nudge that has been prodding you is now pushing you to seek out like minded individuals.  Prompting you to seek out that seemingly unattainable knowledge to feed an unquenchable thirst and satisfy your unending hunger.  

You start to notice a change in your physical body.  These changes come in many forms.  Food allergies is very common.  Nothing to worry about.  This is all part of the process.  Certain tones and volumes of particular sounds begin to bother you.  Nothing to be concerned about.  All part of the process!  

You will feel strong emotions one moment and in a flash you feel nothing at all.  Not to worry!  This too is all part of the process!

Whatever stage you find yourself in always remember to be Kind to Your SELF! 

Keep In Mind ...

This is not a race of any kind!  You will reach maturity in your own divine timing!

Every single person is where they are suppose to be ... when they are suppose to be ... at the exact moment they are suppose to be -- Doing and acting as they are suppose to be!

Stages of The Awakening Process: Part 1

 Your awakening process isn’t just about becoming consciously aware -- it's about growing up and maturing as well.    For many, this doesn’t always  go hand in hand.  

• There are those who believe that just being aware is enough.  It isn’t.    

• There are those who believe that if they repeat certain “catch phrases” this will magically and automatically turn them into a full grown and matured awaken individual.  It doesn’t.  

• There are those who believe that if they hold on to the ways and teachings of those that came before them … this too will make them more awake, more aware and make them  mature, complete and whole.  That is more than enough  It isn't.

These are only a small part of your spiritual maturity -- the first steps towards your spiritual growth, if you will. 

Your spiritual awakening is much like your physical growing process.  You have that moment of conception, followed by a  gestation period (for the most part nine months) followed by the birthing process.  From there you go from infant to toddler to young child to adolescent -- and as time passes you become an adult human experiencer.

    No part of this process can be skipped.

While a toddler  may immolate an adult … this still does not make him/her an adult … does it?  No, it does not.  Adolescents may think they are adults … and may very well behave and act in a more mature way than most adults … but the truth still remains … they are still adolescents!

 The stages of the Awakening parallels your human life during it's growing process in the exact same manner.   And like your human physical process … no steps can or will be skipped.

 Again, for emphasis -- keep in mind that your awakening process parallels your physical stages of life and all that goes along with it. 

• Conception
• Gestation
• Birth
• Infant - Toddler
• Young Child - Early Adolescence
• Late Adolescence - Early Adult
• Mid-Late Adulthood

Special Note

Please keep in mind that each stage of development is very important.  Though it may be frustrating for yourself and others, each stage must be worked through in order to gain the necessary foundation of your maturity.

You will find yourself annoyed by many whom you have out grown and as a result will find it necessary to cut them out of your life at some point of your awakening.

This is all part of the process.

For those of you who find yourself on the receiving end of being let go, don't take it personally.   Those who let you go have matured faster. This doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you.   It simply means you are going at your own individual pace.   There is nothing wrong with that.  There is nothing wrong with you.  Everyone goes at their own pace.

Living The Dream

​

In my humble opinion, I believe everybody should write at least one book and publish it!   No, it may never be a number one best seller.  But at least it was written and it was put out there for all to see and enjoy.  And that's an accomplishment you can live with!

I was talking to a co-worker the other day about Children of the Luminaries.  She mentioned how she always wanted to publish a book herself.  Naturally, I told her to do it!   Sadly, she said she could never do it because no one would ever read it.  I then gave her the advice that was given me many years ago. 

Never write for others.  Always write for yourself.  Write what you would like to read.  Write about the things you enjoy!  And if others read your work and discover they like it and enjoy it, then you have doubled your blessings!
 

Wise words from the one and only, Ray Bradbury!

Of course then she told me how she had been working on one particular novel since she was a teenager.  She griped about how it was just taking too long to write. I laughed and informed  her when I had actually started writing Children of the Luminaries.  She was a little shocked and relieved all at the same time.

You see, the very first time I sat down to draft out Children of the Luminaries was written 25 years ago.  We're talking 1990 here.    On an electric typewriter no less!  The second draft didn't happen until 8 years after that.  I had gotten a used word processor and keyed in the first draft, making changes along the way.   I put it away and didn't pick it back up until late 2003.  In 2011, I shared the story with an online acquaintance who had a publishing business.  Unfortunately, she and I had different ideas on how the story should go, so we parted ways. 

It wasn't until late 2013 that my best friend told me that we are going to publish it ourselves.  And we did.  It took us a year and a half to get everything set up.  But once that proverbial ball got moving...it MOVED!

On July 25, 2014, the first book of the Children of the Luminaries trilogy became a physical manifestation. 

Now my journey isn't unique and it's far from over.  Did you know there are quite a few people out there who got started late in life and succeeded in fulfilling their dreams of being a writer?  Yep!  It's True!  And you can too!

My sharing my personal story is to remind you that your dreams will always be with you.  But only YOU can live them out.  Only YOU can fulfill them.  Don't let the passages of time be a deterrent. Just DO IT!  I mean...what do you have to lose?

​ Don't wait until you have the time...MAKE the time!  Write about the things you know, the things you enjoy, the things that excite you.  Just DO IT!

One of my favorite yearly exercises is writing a novel in thirty days.  It's actually a national contest held yearly online.  Lots of fun!  And oh quite so liberating!

But you don't have to join any contest to put forth the effort of letting your fingers fly on the keyboard.  Just take an hour a day every single day for the next 30 days and write your story.  Don't look at what you wrote.  Don't try to correct yourself.  Just DO IT! 

I will leave you with this last piece of sage advice that was given to me years ago by my mentor Joseph "CASAC" Casis.

Children of the Luminaries Book Two: Training Day ***UPDATE***

Well kiddies, I am five chapters away from completing  Book Two of the Children of the Luminaries trilogy.  

(loud yell and lots of happy dances around the room).

Children of the Luminaries Trilogy Q&A

What inspired you to write Children of the Luminaries?

Actually, the entire trilogy is based on the stories my maternal grandmother used to tell me when I was a child.   

So this is a tribute to your granny then?

Yes, as a matter of fact, it is!  Granny was this incredible storyteller and I wanted to share with the world the tales she passed on to me.  

The trilogy also serves to mirror our individual spiritual growth; to bring awareness to the various issues that are taking place around the world.  How we treat one another, the animals, wildlife, forests, our waters and the lovely creatures who call it home, our beloved planet itself. The entire story reflects how, if left unchecked, negativity grows and flows leaving only death & destruction in its wake.

So What's Children of the Luminaries about? 

The story itself surrounds a young woman known only as The Oracle and tells of her adventures and coming into her own.

Throughout the trilogy, we will watch The Oracle go through the various stages of growth and maturity.    The reader gets to witness first hand the battle of self as The Oracle struggles with stepping out of her comfort zone and into the role of champion. 

In short, it is a story of one woman's spiritual journey into maturity.  One that exudes and exemplifies unconditional love and how it transforms an individual.   

How so?

It all begins when the energies known as The Wave of Negativity starts taking over entire worlds.  In all the vast multi-verses  The Oracle is the only one found to be worthy to take on and defeat it.    Or rather the living vessel The Wave has chosen to use. 

The Oracle?  Is she like some kind of ruler or super soldier?

No.  She isn't a ruler nor is she a soldier.  As the name implies, The Oracle is a spiritual leader and a liaison for her people.  She has no formal training as a warrior.  And very naive when it comes to warfare.   So you can only imagine the shock when she is told she has become the chosen one...a champion...who will hunt down and defeat their most feared adversary that is threatening not only their world but the entire vast multiple Universes.     

How does she do that?

By facing her own fears, her own short-comings and stepping up to take action,  The Oracle slowly transforms into a warrior.    Of course, she accomplishes this through a series of personal battles of wills, i.e.,  the light vs. dark, that dwells within each of us.     

When confronting her shadow side The Oracle is terrified as anyone would and should be (and is).    But The Oracle comes into the knowing that deep down she must follow through and do what is needed to be done if she is to defeat Dagon.  Despite, and in spite, all of her fears.

With the assistance of her mentor Demetrius, a shape-shifting, wise-cracking wizard, and a little help from her loved ones, The Oracle learns that in order to face her adversary, she must first face her greatest fears:  accept herself and embrace all that she is.

Stepping up and taking ownership of one's power is one of the greatest challenges any one person can do.     In fact, I believe the greatest battle of all is the one we deal with from within.  And The Oracle demonstrates this throughout the entire story.

The Oracle's struggles sound like a very familiar subject.

Yes,  unfortunately, it is.  Very much so.  Sadder still is this familiar subject isn't limited to literature, TV, and movies. This subject is found in real everyday life.   

Throughout human history, ordinary men and women, with no formal military training whatsoever, have been called to face an adversary, one that threatens not only their home and way of life, but now poses a real danger to the rest of the world.  It is a story as old as time itself.  In fact, it is a story that we, as a global community, are seeing unfold here in the present right before our very eyes.

Like these brave men and women of yesteryear and today, The Oracle is thrust into becoming something she was very unprepared for.  Not only is she a witness to all the destruction, but now she is called upon to do battle, and ultimately defeat, the very one perpetuating all this havoc. 

This is one of many parallels the reader will see in the book

What would you say is The Oracle's motivation? What compels her to go through these challenges?

Unconditional Love.   It is the genuine love for all living beings that found her worthy to be chosen in the first place.   But it is the unconditional love she has for her comrades that prompts her into action and initiates the changes necessary to complete the tasks set before her.  It is what literally transform her.  

So you're saying Love is what this is all about?

Yes.  It is love that motivates an individual to go outside their norm to do what even they believe impossible.  Overcoming the impossible to do for those they care for.   And even for those, she doesn't even know. That takes courage born out of genuine unconditional love. 

I am a true believer that love--unconditional love--does transform a person and propels them forward.   Pushing them to face and overcome insurmountable odds.  Bringing forth the true self that stands in the light and does not waiver.

To sum it up in a nutshell, the Children of the Luminaries trilogy is a different kind of love story because it addresses the raw truth of what love is and is not.

Now, you mention The Wave of Negativity,  what is that exactly?

Envision, if you will,  all the hate, all the anger and all the fears of every living being collecting together and forming into one massive energy growing at an exponential rate, sweeping across the Multi-Verses.  And as it makes its way across the cosmos it amplifies every single negative emotion in all it touches a million times a million leaving chaos and destruction in its path.  

Sounds horrifying!  

Oh!  It is!  It is!  

And The Oracle has to battle and defeat this energy?

In a sense, yes.  The Wave Of Negativity now has consumed several key characters.  One of which is Dagon, who was once one of the high ranking officials of the Knights of the Pantheon.   And through the encouragement of three members of the Pantheon, who have also been taken over by The Wave, Dagon has now become the living physical embodiment of the energies known as  The Wave Of Negativity.

We touched on one or two things in the story that mirror real life, are there other parallels found in Children of the Luminaries?

Oh yes!  The breakdown of governments, the moral decline of society worldwide, the overwhelming power grabbing of leaders, the lack of compassion,  the increasing distrust and loss of faith in religious teachings.  The overall growing hypocrisy in both religion and politics.   The intensifying of fear on every level.

On the upside, the reader will see the tenacity of the human spirit. And the astounding metamorphosis of those who find themselves in these dire situations.  I feel is the most important parallel of them all.  

The tenacity of the human spirit?  You're talking about  The Oracle,  right?

No, not just The Oracle.  Though she is the focus of the story, Children of the Luminaries has been written in such a way that the reader can relate to more than one character.   Each of them displays certain traits we all possess.   They allow us to see and acknowledge our individual fears and show us that in spite and despite those fears, we can be courageous and forthright.

Of course, I believe everyone will find themselves relating to The Oracle and her struggles of accepting who she really is more than anything. 

Yes,  I can see people of every walk of life relating to this story on some level in some way.

Exactly!  The Children of the Luminaries trilogy has been written to appeal to everyone.  Those who have personally gone through a life-altering transformation of some kind; and those on a conscious spiritual quest will find this story, particularly to their liking.     And of course, anyone who loves a good fantasy action adventure filled with a wide assortment of mythical characters, knights, and magic!

But be advised...this is not a children's book.  

Oh, definitely not a children's book!  That's for sure.  Which leads me to my next question, what age group is Children of the Luminaries written for?

It's written for anyone 18 years and over who enjoys a great story that blends and mixes science fiction, fantasy, action adventure, and spirituality.  

If you (or someone you know) fancies Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter or The Hunger Games,  then Children of the Luminaries is something you will definitely enjoy!

Excellent!  Okay, gotta ask.  Who is your favorite character in Children of the Luminaries?  And why?

Actually, I have two.  One is the ogre Kee'Shu and the other is Muddithir, leader of the Sarducian Guardsman.    They are two of the many tragic victims of the Dark Lord Dagon.  These two magnificent beings are shining examples of those who never give up hope and never lose faith.  And they are such gentle souls.   I can't read those chapters without tearing up.  

What's your favorite scene?  And why?

That would have to be where Demetrius and The Oracle have gotten out of Dagon's castle and discover The Twelve have departed without them.  The Oracle's tantrum is hilarious.  It is endearing and quite comical. 

I have to ask this, why was a woman chosen to be champion?

When I asked my grandmother that question many years ago,  her reply was...Why not?   

But in all honesty,  I believe a woman was chosen based on what the female energies represent.  Creation and strength.  A moving force that brings about change.  And it is the major source of all there is.  After all, we refer to nature as Mother.

And too, The Oracle symbolizes the global rise of the female energy acknowledging and taking back its power.  No longer playing the victim, no longer accepting of being part of a slave class and/or being a second class citizen.    The Oracle is a living symbol of,  not only all women, but anyone Standing up and taking ownership of their personal power and  all they are.

Book One leaves us all hanging ... what can we expect from Book Two?

Book Two will take us into The Oracle's intense training and allow the reader to bear witness to her incredible transformation from naive spiritual teacher to a powerful warrior.   It will also answer many questions Book One has posed and lead us into Book Three...The Day Of Reckoning!
