LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) A local mother says she tried to punish her son by making him mow lawns for free. But it backfired -- he enjoyed it.'
Now, it has turned into a community service project for a group of teens.
"That's originally how it started. Punishment. And he loved it!" Barbara Wilson said.
Her discipline plan for her son Travis Durham backfired.
"(I
told him to) go cut a couple of our neighbors' yards, and when I got
home, he had cut eight yards, front and back. He loves doing it," Wilson
said.
Durham wanted to continue and got his two brothers and cousin on board.
"We're
doing it for the community, (for) people who can't get out and do it,"
Durham said. "And I got my brothers involved because I kind of showed
them and told them the good effects."

Imagine...all you held dear, your way of life, all that you knew, was suddenly and tragically taken away.
Imagine...being but only one of 13 survivors of a once powerful race of people.
Imagine...being told you were chosen to be a warrior that must face and defeat your most feared enemy.
Imagine...learning of a distant world where the dark lord now inhabits and controls. The same world where your 12 loved ones were sent; and where they reside with no memories of their prior existence...no memories of you.

What would you do? How far would you go to save those you love?

Long time Radio and TV Personality Speaks Out and Up On Recent Flash Mob Violence In Louisville, Kentucky
This is not a post about race
by Terry Meiners
March 26, 2014
March 26, 2014
This is not a post about race. It is a post about a community’s inherent mission, the protection of its law-abiding citizens from predators.
The Great Wall of China is not a decoration. That wall, forts, castles, and foxholes were created for protection from predators. People who live in a community do so with the understanding that they will protect each other – or pay taxes to afford efficient protection – from those who would burst the order of the community.
When a person or persons within the community breach that pact, they are sent to another sturdy construction called a prison so that they cannot continue preying upon their community.
GHOST TOWN ON THE RIVER
In the 1970s, Louisville’s growth was stunted by the derisive term Strike City, a label earned from repeated union strikes at various companies. The River City Mall killed 4th Street businesses when the pedestrian mall led to more assaults. Thugs had omnidirectional escape routes without fear of surveillance from vehicular traffic.
Louisville will be known as Thug City unless it deals with today’s recurring issues created by sociopathic roving thugs.
Apologists immediately claim Saturday’s mayhem is an isolated incident. That reaction is based on ignorance of local history, or is an intentional lie to mask a colossal local problem.

Kentucky Humane Society seeks donations for dogs rescued from Pulaski Co.
PULASKI CO., Ky. (WHAS11) -- The Kentucky Humane Society says some of the dogs rescued this week from a puppy mill in Pulaski County could go up for adoption as early as next week.
Forty-three dogs were rescued from that puppy mill on Tuesday. The dogs are being checked out by vets at the Humane Society in Louisville.
If you can't give an animal a home there are still ways you can help.
The Humane Society says right now, it needs cleaning supplies, blankets and bedding and soft dog treats.
Donations can be taken to the main office on Steedly Drive or to any of the Humane Society's Adoption sites at local Feeders Supply stores.
For more information, or to make a monetary donation, please contact
