The Empress On The NFL

Okay, so I'm going to weigh in on this whole NFL thing. Look, these guys have a right to voice their opinion. Yes! Whether or not you agree with them, they still have a right to express their opinion. No matter how wrong it may or may not be. Do I like their opinion? No I DO NOT! However, I do respect their rights to have one. And I respect their rights to express said opinions.
Will I stop watching NFL games? Well, to be fair, I haven't watched a game in over 10 years. Reason being, I don't have anyone to watch it with and it's boring watching it alone. And besides, I don't own a TV any more. I don't do sports bars and all my close friends live out of state.
Another reason I stopped watching and won't watch any more, it scares my cats when they see mommy throwing food at the TV and screaming YOU F'ING IDIOT! Neighbors don't care for my enthusiasm either. Nothing says color me a nice shade of embarrassment like having the cops show up at your door because your neighbor was sure you were inside the house murdering someone. Honestly, the only crime that I committed while watching a game was hurling that really great tasting bowl of potato salad at the screen when that half blind ref called a foul! But that's a whole other story altogether!
So! Just to clarify here (because I know I'm all over the map), even if I did have a TV and a close friend that lived in the same city to watch it with, (and a sound proof room with plenty of plastic sheeting), I still wouldn't watch because I don't want to be bothered with politics while watching a game. Same goes for shows. I watch shows and games for ENTERTAINMENT ... NOT for politics. If I wanted to watch a political throw down I would just watch the presidential debates again! Sheeesh!

Again, I respect the opinions of the players. Doesn't mean I like it. Because I don't! But I respect it. Again, it's their right to have an opinion and to express it anyway they desire. Just as long as it doesn't cause physical harm to anyone, I'm good.

Quite frankly, I believe them all to be idiots ... the President included...for behaving so childishly. This shit has gotten way out of hand. But I understand how they feel. I really do. I appreciate their high achievements in stupidity on things that really don't amount to a hill of beans in the long run. It's not like we don't have people across the globe threatening us with nuclear bombs or like the Jihad is no longer a threat. I mean what else does America have to worry about besides a bunch of cry baby bitches on the field and in the White House!?! It's not like there isn't anything MORE F'ING IMPORTANT TO FOCUS ON! Now is there??!!

I'm sure our homeless can stand to wait a few more months until this crap blows over for funding to come in for suitable housing! I'm quite certain folks who are going without proper nutrition and needed medicines while choosing what bill to pay this month can hold out a little while longer for some assistance to arrive. Yea, we can all just put our lives on hold while both the NFL and the President go at each other like two rabid dogs fighting over the last pork chop. Because all this NFL freeze dried bullshit is WAY MORE IMPORTANT than anything else that's going on in America!

But I digress. Again, I respect the opinions of others. I understand where the President and the NFL are coming from. But just because I respect said opinions and understand the motivation behind all this stupid shit doesn't mean I like it! Because I don't! It's eating up all the air time on my favorite radio programs and crowding up my Face Book news feeds!!! And let me tell you something people ... that just sucks! It SUCKS! But it's everybody's right to express their opinions. And yea, I understand it's a big ratings things for the radio shows. And yes it's everybody's right to keep posting their dismay over the NFL and President Trump squabble, making and putting up their little videos of them burning NFL crap and the like. I respect that. Don't like it! Pisses me off that I have to scroll for 15 minutes before finding something NOT NFL related!!! But I understand. And I respect other's right to express their opinions no matter how f'ing annoying it is!

Okay, I think I made my point.

Anyways, in case you're interested in what my choice during this football season is (and even if you aren't), I will continue on not watching any games. My time during said games will be spent watching The Walking Dead from start to finish (AGAIN). Glad I paid up my Netflix! It's going to be a LONG season!

Officer Stops to Play Ball With Kid

Another Act of Random Kindness ...

This is the kind of dash cam video we usually see – police chases and general mayhem which makes this dash cam video remarkable and unforgettable.

Saturday afternoon, Rosenberg Police Sergeant Ariel Soltura was on patrol, driving through an apartment complex parking lot when he saw a young man. He slowed down.

“And I saw he was throwing up a football and I could tell that was actually playing by himself - he wasn't just waiting for more kids to arrive,” he said.

Soltura could have continued driving but instead, he stopped.

“I literally got out of the car - I did like this which is the universal sign of throw me the football and at that time you just saw his face just lit up and he was ready to play,” Soltura said.

And so they did. Two men as Soltura says – playing football on a perfect day. The Rosenberg Police Department posted it on Facebook. Hours later, it had a about a quarter million likes.

Truth be told Soltura says, it's part of the department's emphasis on community policing - not as adversaries, but as neighbors. What was captured on this dash cam video has gone viral but in a good way.

“It's important because we all live in this world together. We all make an impact in this world and I think it's important that we all put in our little bit and make it a better place,” Soltura said.

On this day, in this place, you could say that's what happened. All because of a kid with a football without anyone to throw it to, until a police officer arrived and threw it long.
