Queer Eye Love Project

Netflix reboot of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy has everybody watching in tears.  Tears of Joy!  If you haven't watched it yet -- I'm going to pass on a word of advice -- something Netflix didn't bother passing along to me or the millions of others who fist partook --make damn sure you have a full box of hankies next to you!    Seriously!  Netflix should have a some kind of warning before each episode!  Hankie Alert!  Only watch if you have a box of Kleenex!  Or something along those lines!  

I never watched the original.  Oh I knew about it, one of my sons (who is gay) watched it religiously.   I was neither interested nor  really had the time.  Being a single working mother left me little energy or interest during those days.  I was, however,  over the top pleased that my gay son had something to watch that he could relate to and learn from.  

Now before I go any further, and for those of you who don't know me, I am one of these people who don't give a rat's ass if you're gay, straight, black, white, yellow or green. Male or female. Fat, skinny or somewhere in between.  You are what you are and I accept you as is.  And if you're any of those before mentioned individuals who suddenly find yourself presented with a show that reflects your beliefs, life style whatever ... I am happy for you.    But that's as far as it goes for me personally.  You see,  I never comprehended the HUGE deal over being gay, black, brown, female or whatever anyways.  Still don't!   All I see is PEOPLE!  People with various likes and dislikes shapes, forms, sizes, colors.  So it was (and still is) difficult for me to wrap my head around what a deal it was, is and continues to be.   It's like flowers.  You got all these different colors of flowers.  They're still flowers no matter what color they are.  People - flowers - same diff to me!  You are what you are and that makes for a gorgeous garden!

Anyways .... moving along here ... 

So when  Queer Eye reboot hit Netflix I thought well there ain't nothing else on might as well give it a shot!   I wasn't prepared for the impact it would have on me.  I later found out on the QE Face Book page that I wasn't the only one.  And this got me to thinking about the original.   So I hunted down free full episodes on line and watched them.   Yes, the originals lived up to their TV show moniker The Fab Five, but they just didn't quite pluck the old heartstrings like their present day counter-parts.   What was different?  What was it that set these guys apart?  And then it dawned on me!

The Epiphany

The new Fab Five is the confirmation of all that hard work for acceptance, compassion, empathy and understanding of those different from ourselves is finally paying off!   It is reassurance that we haven't been spinning our wheels!  It is happening, unfolding and working!  

All those of like mind, as a whole,  have been confirmed and affirmed that these attributes are alive and well!  The human race actually has a chance for redemption.  All is not lost as some would believe!   Yessssss QUEEN!

Those of us watching these five fabulous A.F. young men,  see the fruit of our collective energies working through them, manifesting and expanding.   We  know this in our hearts.  Our tears of joy is our soul's applause for a job well done! 
These beautiful souls, these magnificent beings of light are living proof of that!

I now understand that the original Fab Five were the awesome heralds of what was coming!  They were the torch bearers of a brilliant light that opened the way.  (Little did any of us know how bright that light would become!)  We all will be forever grateful to them.   

Who would have thought that five Queens could bring out so much in one Empress?!! 

I know it all goes much deeper than what I have shared with you here.  But this Empress will leave that for another time!  At least for the time being.

My heart overflows with so much love and gratitude for these young men! The world and my life is so much richer knowing they are here working that love thang.  And I thank ALL who had a hand in bringing them into our lives!

Valentine Sig Tags 2018

Here are some of my first Valentine sig tags for 2018  featuring the beautiful Garv Girls, Very Many and Spazz

My First Day Back -- January 1, 2018

This year I made a conscious promise to myself that I would be well ... more conscious!  Once upon a time I was very conscious.  But my life started going every which way.  One distraction after another.  One let down after another.  And so on and son.   I just let the distractions of the physical take over.  Yea.  It happens to the best of us!  For me the distractions led to a near death experience.  Not the first NDE I ever had.  But it was the one that got me back on track.   That's what NDEs do after all.  

It wasn't just the NDE though.   I kept getting these messages -- these signs to return to my truth.  Everywhere I turned there they were! Signs!  Signs! Signs!  Everywhere a sign!  Good Grief!  Okay!  Okay!  Sheeeeeesh!  So here I sit on the first day of 2018 determined to make a go of it.   After all these years of slacking off, I'm back.  If you are getting a hint that I am be a little hesitant ... well you're not imagining it.  I am.  I know what is waiting for me. But when I think about the alternatives, it becomes a no brainer.    But still that hesitance lingers.   I know it will be okay.  I just have to get over it, under it and through it.  And I will!  What real choice do I have?    

And before any of you say you always have a choice I want to let you in on a little secret.   Once you have been fully awakened, there is no going back to the way things use to be.  Oh you can step outside of your awakened state and try to fit in with the sleep walkers.  Been there!  Done that!  But it doesn't work out.  You become this miserable schlep who is literally an outsider.   And if you don't believe me try having a casual conversation about quantum physics with a person who has never even heard of quantum physics!   Or talk about Mercury retrograde with your co-workers only to watch them glare at you like a deer caught in headlights. Yea, real mind bending moments there!  Let me tell ya! So yea, real choices ... my ass!  

When you have gone through the spiritual awakening there is no turning back.  And there is certainly no blending in with those who have yet to wake up. 

Folks on the outside think this whole spiritual awakening is about having fun.  Sure you can have fun, but the deal is once you start going through the process, you find yourself on the outside looking in.  Nothing fun about that!   People that you use to hang out with, who thought you were cooler than a room full of air conditioners now avoid you.  Why?  Because you've changed! You've become this weirdo nut case who sees and talks to spirits.   You got this knowingness about you and it makes them uncomfortable!  

Oh and  people in general start to really irritate you because now--now you see how utterly ignorant they are.   And it makes you question your own sanity because you start to wonder and ask yourself...where the hell have I been?  Have people always been this stupid?   Then there is the language barrier.  And I'm not talking about everybody speaking Spanish and you're the only one speaking Hebrew!    Ever sit and listen to someone talk and not understand a single thing they said?  Or read something and find the words are now foreign to you? You know damn well you knew those words before, but now you don't!  And you have to work really hard to remember what they all mean!?  It's like you are speaking and reading in Hebrew only the words are written and spoken in Spanish!

Welcome to the spiritual awakening!  It's a hoot!  Ain't it?

Then there is the breakdown in your body and mind.   Sure it happens regardless.  But guess what?   When you stray away from your truth, the breakdown accelerates!  At least when you are in your truth, you can slow it down.  Regenerate.   But if you're off that path ... you're like that fan you just unplugged.   Eventually it comes to a complete halt.  


So again, I ask, what choice do I have but to return?   And so I have.  

Haul out the duct tape and embrace your inner bitch!
